I'm not opposed to its actual use in general, I'm just not comfortable using it myself when talking about my state of health. It makes me laugh because I can get over my family and friends seeing me use a wheelchair (eventually *g*) but I feel self-conscious about using the term 'spoons'? I'm silly.
When it's used in that type of post though, it's just... not only do they get to do all these exciting things and post about them, but they then nick the term that other people had to have specially created in order to explain why they *can't* do these things. It makes me feel like a grumpy old whiner and I'd much rather be able to read about their exciting day and be happy for them *g*
