Mucking about with pens and pencils

Okay, so if you look please bear in mind that 1. these are supposed to be quick sketches to gather inspiration rather than finished drawings, 2. I can count the number of things I've drawn rather than doodled on one hand in the last couple of decades, and 3. drawing actual things rather than stuff in my head was never my strong point.

First mini assignment on my course (as in, the first things I'm required to submit.)

They are supposed to be inspiration gathering (along with photos) for the theme of nature vs. man-made things and structures, so there's the creeper on the wall (I hate the crappy sketch, but it still gave me ideas and there's a similar thing working much better with pastels already), part of the same plant twisting around a shiny cable, stuff growing on a trellis against the fence, and a weed between the paving stones on my patio. Sadly this theme is all too appropriate for my garden wilderness.

Submitting these to my tutor was NERVEWRACKING. I'd forgotten that part of studying something!

Wow, you have a good memory! That was probably the last thing I drew, and it was mostly from a memory of a photo, if I remember rightly. It's still just as intimidating posting pics around so many fabulous artists, hehe.

I'm glad you like them anyway - I'm not sure what they will end up as, but apparently we build on each assignment so possibly they will be recognisable as inspiration for my assessed work at the end of the course.

My health is definitely improving, if slowly. More importantly right now, you're going to DiaCon Alley? VERY glad to hear it! I'm definitely going, and I can't wait for July. Will be great to see you again :)
