Hiya :) I'm sorted for the moment, in that I can use Lynx light now for the site scheme without it constantly resetting. That's the only one where the colours (lack of!) and contrast are usable for me, though it's a bit fiddly without the menus, especially when you're trying to get the hang of using something new.

Hopefully the suggestion to get a more subdued alternative to the red and purple will be picked up, but I understand the reservations about too many options. I'm definitely impressed with everyone's willingness to help too!
