I've been playing over at Full Moon Ficlet, and there's been some great stuff posted for the challenges so far. tryslora in particular did a five parter for the 'photographs' prompt that is now posted in full on AO3. It's Lydia POV, with canon pairings mentioned as well as a couple of others. It includes some sad stuff, so check the tags/warnings, but it's well worth a read if you can cope with that. It's just gorgeous.

I woke up to see I'd been tagged on stop_drop_howl, and more Peter/Stiles seems to be happening, though with added smut this time, yay.


For the last few days I've been editing my podbang recording, and during the whole process I've sorted out some of the issues I had last time I started making podfics. Even my voice holds out longer now, I don't sound hoarse after two minutes. That was so annoying. So yes, this means the other ones I made a start on AGES ago will be finished soon! First of all though, I have to submit this file as it stands tomorrow, which is fully recorded with a main edit done. Then I'll be checking through for mistakes etc. -- I've already found one part where I mixed up names, and there are a couple of bits where I'd like to replace a small section to improve it.

I've asked the mods whether we can name the fic we've recorded as I'm not clear whether I can or not before they're posted, but it's a modern AU Merlin/Arthur (after Merlin/Gwaine) and includes some infidelity. I don't think there are any other likely squicks in there, but if you're up to a beta-type listen, even if it's just for part of it (it's a 42k word fic, I don't expect anyone to beta listen to the whole thing), let me know! At this point I'm so tired of the sound of my own voice it's untrue *g* The posting date is Feb 14th, so all editing needs to be finished in time for then, obviously.

Author's Notes: This was hard to fit in under 1000 words. Prompts used as follows - fullmoon_ficlet prompt 01 - red, teenwolf_bingo assassins/spies, trope_bingo AU: all-human.

Yeah, so this is a good example of why I wish I'd, at some point in the last 8 years, found a preferred genre or something to write, because these two couldn't be more different. But hey, you work with what you have.

ETA: I forgot to say thank you for those who commented and/or recced -- I love you and will reply to comments asap. I just ran into some stuff that freaked me out a bit via my flist, so I'm going to do some of the other mountain of stuff I have to do this evening before coming back to LJ/IJ/DW, but <3

I'm not great at looking backwards, so rather than doing the year memes like everyone else (I'm enjoying reading them though, so don't stop!), I will ramble on about now and stuff coming up.

So, 700 words of Derek/Jackson prison porn later, with a fair bit more still to come, apparently I still can't stop writing. The last month or two may not be a complete fluke! There have even been ideas not spawned for fest prompts, which never happens to me. In an effort to keep things vaguely organised, I nabbed a couple of cards, one for Trope Bingo (multi-fandom, which is why I included the question about what I should be writing here) and one for Teen Wolf Bingo.

My flist isn't so much focused on us reading or even watching the same things these days, but if you have ideas, feel free to chuck them in! Wings squick me, so that one is extremely unlikely to happen as it would feel a bit cheaty to include wings to a level I could tolerate. I could have opted to exclude that one, but random is more fun, and more of a challenge.

For the general one, I'm open to suggestions! I feel the need to write more HP, preferably the older or odder (or both) characters, but anything I'm familiar with will be gratefully nabbed for the inspiration pile.

The Teen Wolf one has five pairings on it. The most interesting combinations of pairing and prompts to me on there turned out to be the Derek/Jackson (wah, I will miss Jackson), Peter/Stiles (I have noted your suggestion, melusinahp, and I already have a plan for an extra using all the prompts from that column!) and Peter/Derek ones.

I haven't read everything from tw_holidays yet, though I hope to get to most of them before the reveals. I hope I haven't missed any, but I may have had a couple of glasses of Bailey's, so I should probably check them over later...

I wrote a pinch hit for the fest, and had lots of fun with it. I think there's one more day of posting to come, but I'm not entirely sure when the reveal is without checking.

There have been a couple of incidents this week where people have confused a mod posting fic in a fest with the author, or left possibly important info on those posts. I'll post at the reversathon comms as well, but just to let you know, I have comment notifications on still for all the posts made by the mod account, so I'll forward anything that comes in aside from standard comments.

The last one was a nomination notice for hpfanficfanpoll, and I'm sure it won't be the last nomination from the great fics we had submitted. Nominations so far are here, and since when I went to get that link I found one of my fics on there, can I just thank whoever nominated The Chelmsford List? Now, Stan Shunpike/Mundungus Fletcher don't stand a chance of being voted the Most Romantic Story in the slash category next to Harry/Draco and Snape/Harry fics, but BLESS whoever nominated them for putting them there! You more than made my day when I saw it :D

So, anyone who might be thinking it's safe to watch Teen Wolf* for a bit of a laugh because:

1. It's going to be rubbish, obviously. (i.e. on a level with Vampire Diaries, which to me is possibly the most ridiculous show ever.)
2. Even if it's okay, you already have more than enough fandoms, thanks.
3. You're not interested in werewolves, not in the least. To the point that you have included it many times in squicks when signing up for things.
4. Even when you can tolerate werewolves, the whole pack thing/animal-like behaviour in humans is really off-putting.

Yeah, not safe by a long way. SIGH. As soon as I finish these edits, I shall dive back into fic.**

*Yes, I have been living under a rock. Obviously.
** Which could be painful, since my preference is for a minority pairing, woe.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! <3 And sorry I haven't been around much, but I've been worn to a frazzle, and then the frazzle was run down by a steamroller. Puppies, two fests, and a couple of exciting new opportunities for surgery haven't left me with much time to read or post.

Puppy pics soon, but right now I need to find a couple of backups for the reversathon. If you could write a short HP fic in a couple of weeks to help out, drop us a line at reversathon @ refugeeblues.com or comment with a brief note about any characters or pairings you'd prefer to write/draw/avoid. The ones we have aren't anything too obscure or strange, so they shouldn't be too problematic. We'll be sending out requests to volunteers asap, with no obligation to accept them, of course.
