Site schemes and stuff

Thanks to melannen there's a discussion about alternative site schemes here. Go and have some input!

I have a question for those of you who changed from the default red and white site scheme - does it keep resetting for you when you log in and out? I can't believe it's meant to do this, but every time I log in it's back to red and white. Ow. And yes, I hit the save button after changing to Lynx. I must be doing something wrong...?

ETA: I *think* the problem has been fixed by logging in manually instead of through LJLogin, but I'll keep an eye on it.

ETA: And to remind myself, as well as let anyone else know that might need it: there's a setting in LJLogin (Preferences, Site Scheme). Phew.

Can't help you unfortunately. I use the default red and white myself but at the time I used another one it never changed. But I never log out either, I'm always logged in. If nobody else has any idea, perhaps you could open a support request? I know they're willing to answer any questions.

It's weird, I've been playing about and if I log in normally (I can't remember passwords for the life of me but I managed to log out and straight back in again without putting the password in) then it give me Lynx light, but if I use LJLogin (which obviously I do usually) it doesn't. It's not a question of needing to refresh or anything, it actually sets it back to the default site scheme in my settings!

Sounds like it's the LJLogin, then. Perhaps you could ask Firefox to remember your password for DW, so you don't have to use LJLogin, and maybe even look in your cookies and see if the ones for DW are set to "allow" and not to "allow for session". I think that was my own problem at first and I wondered why I was logged in at LJ/IJ any time I opened my browser, but logged out at DW.

Yeah, there may be some general weirdness going on. I still can't stay logged in to DW and FF isn't giving me the option to save the password even though it's not in my exceptions BUT since I logged in manually it does seem to have kept the light site scheme - even when I'm not logged in. I think it might be more complicated than I first thought *g*

Looking at the cookies it seems that now I've logged in manually once it has set one to keep the site scheme preference and I can use LJLogin without it switching back. That works just fine for me, as I'd rather not stay logged in all the time anyway. If it turns out to only work temporarily I'll go to support and mention something to the LJLogin creator as well. Fingers crossed, and thanks for the suggestions! *g*

Yay, I'm glad it works now. :) Crossing my fingers it keeps doing so!

I'm pretty sure that isn't supposed to be happening! Hopefully they'll get it fixed quickly.

It seems to be using LJLogin that does that :( This is a bit of a drawback, as I've found it difficult to stay logged in to DW in the past.
